Having gained a BA in English Literature from Southampton, an MPhil from Cambridge and a PhD from Reading, Nicky has worked for over 12 years in both teaching and editorial roles. As a teacher, she has worked delivering pre-sessional and Business English courses, and lectured in literature at Reading, Birkbeck and Oxford. As an editor, Nicky has worked freelance for clients such as Macmillan, Folens and CfBT.

Jonathan Dore has worked at IOE Press since February 2012. He previously had copy-editing, commissioning, and research management roles at Websters International, Fitzroy Dearborn, and the Golden Web Foundation, after an earlier career in music publishing.

Gillian Klein, Ph.D., is Senior Fellow in Publishing and Publisher of Trentham Books, co-founded along with Professor John Eggleston in 1985. She worked to further race and gender equality as an ILEA librarian and research fellow and later as an academic. Her well-received professional books were published by other academic publishers, while she grew the Trentham list and edited an influential professional journal. In 2009, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for ‘Trentham’s services to education’.

Nicole Edmondson is in charge of commissioning books on education policy and practice, project management of book production, website content management, and social media strategy. She has been working with us since 2007. Before joining us, she completed a Ph.D. in Postcolonial Literature at Royal Holloway, University of London, and had a range of experience in publishing, public relations, and journalism.

After a short period as a secondary English teacher, Pat Gordon-Smith entered academic publishing in 1988. She has since commissioned and edited countless books, articles, journals, and magazines, and nursed many more through production – working closely throughout with authors and editors as they write and seek to promote their work. She has an MA in Childhood Studies from the UCL Institute of Education, and brings her combined skills to the management of IOE Press’s academic open-access and subscription journals.

Sally Sigmund leads on the marketing and sales of our IOE Press and Trentham titles. Sally enjoys spreading the news about our wonderful books to the outside world and is always keen to share our book news and make connections. Sally completed a BA (Hons) in English Literature at Queen Mary College, University of London as a mature student and has spent the majority of her career working in the education sector.

Having worked as a bookseller managing the largest range of fiction in Europe, and at publishers and literary agencies, Margie is keen to promote UCL IOE Press and Trentham Books titles.
